CRABBIES

1 stick butter, softened

1, 5 ounce jar Kraft Old English cheese spread, room temperature

1 tablespoon mayonnaise

½ teaspoon garlic salt

1, 8 ounce can lump crab meat, drained (or 8 ounces fresh, picked free of cartilage)

2 tablespoons chopped chives

6 English muffins, split

½ teaspoon paprika

Instructions

In a medium bowl, cream together the butter, cheese, mayonnaise, and garlic salt.  Fold in crab meat and chives.

Divide this mixture in 6 parts and spread on the English muffin halves and sprinkle with paprika.

Freeze for about 10 minutes and then cut each half into fourths or eighths, depending on your preference.  Broil until bubbly and lightly browned.

An oldie, but a goodie and super simple.  My mom used to make these when I was a kid, and it was an old recipe then, so you know they must good to stand the test of time.  These appetizers can be stored in the freezer in a ziplock bag ready to pop in the oven whenever company arrives.
