APPLE CRISP

												Ingredients
The Apples:
10 cups peeled and sliced apples (½” wedges)
½ cup flour
1 cup sugar
¼ cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons cinnamon
2 tablespoons lemon juice
¼ cup apple cider
The Topping:
1 cup quick oats
1 cup flour
¾ cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 stick + 3 tablespoons cold butter cut into small pieces
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Coat a 9” x 13” baking dish with non-stick spray.
Combine all of the dry apple ingredients in a large bowl and whisk. Add the apples and toss to coat. Add the cider and lemon juice to the bowl and toss until all of the dry ingredients are absorbed
Place the coated apples in the baking dish, making sure to get every bit of that gooey sauce.
Combine the topping ingredients in the same bowl and, using your fingers, massage the butter chunks into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse meal or wet sand. Spread the topping over the apples and bake for 50 minutes – 1 hour until browned, bubbly and the apples are tender when pierced with the tip of a knife.
Let cool for 10 minutes and serve warm topped with vanilla ice cream. Go back for seconds…
