CAPRESE SALAD

 

4-6 large fresh garden tomatoes

Salt and pepper

3 large balls fresh mozzarella cheese

2 cups fresh basil leaves

Extra virgin olive oil

Balsamic glaze

 

Slice the tomatoes to ½” thickness and season each slice with salt and pepper.  Do the same with the mozzarella. 

 

On a large platter alternate the tomato and mozzarella slices, overlapping by half and put a large basil leaf in between each layer.  Continue in a concentric pattern.  Drizzle the salad with olive oil and then the balsamic glaze. 

 

This is a traditional Italian classic salad that bursts with fresh flavor of garden tomatoes, sweet basil, and creamy mozzarella.
