BECKY’S AMERICAN CHOP SUEY
3 Tbs. olive oil
2 large yellow onions, chopped
6 large cloves garlic, chopped
2.5-3 lbs. 80% lean ground beef
1 Tbs. salt
2 tsp. black pepper
2 tsp. granulated garlic powder
3, 14.5 oz. cans Italian style stewed tomatoes
1 lb. elbow pasta
Heat oil in a large skillet. Saute onions and garlic until soft. Add ground beef and cook over medium high heat, breaking up burger and stirring until meat is almost completely cooked through. Add stewed tomatoes and let simmer on high breaking up tomatoes and stirring every few minutes, about 10 minutes.
While sauce is simmering, cook pasta according to package directions. Drain and return to pasta pot. Add the sauce and toss well to coat. Re-season with salt and pepper as needed.
